Steven Blake Crowder was born on July 7, 1987, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, United States. He has dual nationality (American and Canadian) and is Caucasian.

He was raised by his mother, Francie Crowder, alongside his younger brother, Jordan Crowder, who is also an actor and filmmaker. Crowder went to Centennial Regional High School. He then enrolled at Champlain College.
